Gor Mahia fans on Saturday, February 7, 2026, turned Kisumu town into a carnival mood with the club’s white and green regalia engulfing the city ahead of the Shield Cup round of 64 clash against Dero FC.

The clash at Mamboleo grounds was preceded by the fans swarming the stadium in dance and jubilation, each one keen to showcase his moves.

The jubilant crowd braved the scorching heat for a rare glimpse of their beloved team as the FKF Premier League knockout tournament provided the opportunity to watch Charles Akonnor’s charges playing at the lakeside town.

The jubilant fans were never disappointed in coming out in their usual element with drums and songs renting the stadium premises before the 3:00 pm kick.

K’Ogalo geared up for the second clash of the FKF Shield Round of 64 tie that was curtain-raised by Amani Youth slumping to a 5-1 rout at the hands of top-tier side Kakamega Homeboyz.

The on-pitch action proceedings continue the celebratory mood as K’Ogalo repaid the massive show of solidarity with a goal in either half of the game to send the Division Two side packing.

The 2025 finalist rode on goals from Levin Odhiambo and Samuel Kapen, who featured in a changed team lineup and started the quest for the Cup tourney on a high.

The victory saw Gor Mahia join a host of FKF PL sides on a winning start to the 2026 campaign.
