FKF Shield Cup: Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards draw lower-tier opponents
FKF PL giants Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards have drawn lower-tier sides in the 2026 Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Shield Cup Games that will kick off from February, 2026.
The draw conducted on Thursday, January 29, 2026, saw Gor Mahia draw Nyanza-based Dero FC in the round of 64 clash.
The Siaya-based club, nicknamed the Granaries, will be facing Gor Mahia for the second time in the competition.
On their part, AFC Leopards have been drawn against FKF Nairobi East Regional League side BB Bread FC.
Round of 64 Dates
“We will play FKF Nairobi East Regional League side BB Bread FC from Kayole in the FKF Cup round of 64,” Ingwe’s statement on the fixture read.
The round of 64 matches will be played in the second weekend of February 7/8,” the statement concluded.

The country’s premier knockout tournament attracted 64 teams in the 2026 edition, with a number of FKF PL sides also confirming participation.
New prize money
The competition run by the FKF comes with a new incentive for participating clubs after the confirmation of an increase in the prize money for the 2026 competition.
As per the newly unveiled deal between the Kenyan FA and a local betting firm sponsoring the tournament, the champions will now walk away with Ksh3 million, up from Ksh2 million, while the runners-up will receive Ksh2 million, a Ksh1 million boost.

Teams finishing third will pocket Ksh 1.5 million, double the previous Ksh 750,000, and fourth-placed sides will take home Ksh 1 million, up from Ksh 500,000.
