Shabana earns Kitale trip as Gor Mahia travel to Kisumu in FKF round 64 fixtures

The match venues for the Football Kenya Federation Shield Cup round 64 ties have been confirmed, with FKF PL sides kicking off their campaign on the road against lowly ranked teams.

The FKF Division One League, FKF Premier League, and all others sanctioned by the federation will be briefly paused on Saturday, February 7, 2026, and Sunday, February 8, 2026, to pave the way for the knockout action.

Shaban FC will be away in Kitale to face Commons FC.

Gor Shabana on the road

The clash on Saturday, February 8, 2026, will kick off at 3:50 pm, with Peter Okidi hoping to start their hunt for maiden knockout silverware on a winning note.

Other notable clashes of the day feature Kakamega Homeboyz, who will curtain-raise the Dero FC vs. Gor Mahia clash at the Mamboleo Stadium in Kisumu.

The FKF PL and 2023 Shield champions will face off in the first clash against Amani Youth at 1:00 pm, before Gor takes to the pitch against the Siaya FKF Division Two outfit.

On Sunday, Fred Ambani’s AFC Leopards will be away to BB Bread at the Ulinzi Sports Complex in Nairobi.

The tie will be preceded by a mouthwatering fixture pitting Nairobi fans’ favourite club, the Githurai All-Stars, hosting former winners, Bandari FC, at 1:00 pm.

The country’s premier knockout tournament attracted 64 teams in the 2026 edition, with 15 FKF PL sides also confirming participation.

New prize money

The competition run by the FKF comes with a new incentive for participating clubs after the confirmation of an increase in the prize money for the 2026 competition.

As per the newly unveiled deal between the Kenyan FA and a local betting firm sponsoring the tournament, the champions will now walk away with Ksh3 million, up from Ksh2 million, while the runners-up will receive Ksh2 million, a Ksh1 million boost.
