Gor Mahia ace throws shade at fan over missing scoring chances

Gor Mahia attacker Felix Oluoch Mboya has taken a swipe at a fan over accusations of spurning scoring opportunities for the club.
In a statement on his Facebook page on Friday, March 6, 2026, Oluoch Mboya, who recently underwent surgery and is moving with the help of crutches, humorously stated that he had overheard a fan claiming that he wasted scoring chances.
His reaction came as a funny clapback to the said fan, as the striker has been conspicuously missing in action since fracturing his knee on Sunday, January 25, 2026.
Mboya was diagnosed with a knee problem and was not with the team for their draw against Posta Rangers on Thursday, March 5, 2026.
The timing of the injury came at a crucial juncture for K’Ogalo and the player, with the 21-time KPL champions stepping up their chase for the league title.
On a personal note, it curtailed Oluoch Mboya’s recent run of form in front of goal, coming days after the striker had bagged a goal in a 3-0 win over Mara Sugar to shore up his chase of the FKF PL Golden Boot with his seventh league goal. After his surgery on March 3, 2026, Gor Mahia provided an update on the nature of the player’s injury and his recovery timeline.
Mboya’s recovery timeline
“Felix Oluoch successfully underwent knee surgery for an osteochondral injury and torn meniscus yesterday. He is stable and is expected to return to play in 12 weeks, depending on his rehabilitation progress and recovery milestones achieved,” team doctor Brian Odongo stated.
Meanwhile, he has been ranked among the top five players with the highest goals in the current league campaign.
A ranking of Kenyan netbusters conducted by the K24 Digital placed FKF PL top scorer Joe Waithira on top of a list of Kenyan lead scorers in their respective top leagues.
The 15-goal hero in the league leads the line, with Moses Shumah and Ulinzi Stars’ Paul Okoth following in a distant second.
