Collins Sichenje shares how Kenyan fans are fueling his dreams at Charlton

Speaking about the encouragement he receives, Sichenje highlighted how meaningful it is to represent Kenyan fans abroad and feel their backing from thousands of miles away via social media. He emphasised that their love for the sport and their excitement about his progress provide him with a strong sense of responsibility to keep improving.
“It feels amazing to have support from Kenyan fans. They’re so passionate, they love what I’m doing and it’s something that gives me motivation. It shows how a lot of people believe in you, and I have to keep that in my mind and keep working because I have goals and dreams,” said Sichenje.

The defender’s journey continues to inspire many young footballers in Kenya who dream of playing professionally overseas. His rise in English football reflects the growing presence of Kenyan talent on the international stage, with more players seeking opportunities to showcase their skills in competitive leagues.
The former AFC Leopards centre back signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with the London-based club early February 2026, moving from Serbian SuperLiga side FK Vojvodina.
Speaking afterwards, the 22-year-old expressed his elation to start a new career in London.

Charlton Athletic’s manager, Nathan Jones, also shared his excitement about landing the Kenyan defender.

“We are thrilled to add Collins… he’s an aggressive, front-footed center-back who is only 22 years of age,” he stated.
Sichenje started his career with Green Commandos before joining Leopards in September 2019.
