Bandari FC captain Andrew Juma has laid out ambitious targets ahead of the 2026 edition of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Shield Cup tournament, stating that the Dockers aim to make it to the final of the knockout competition.

Speaking on Thursday, January 29, 2026, after Dockers drew Githurai AllStars in the round of 64, Roma said he is confident the coastal team can go further than last season’s quarterfinal exit.

“It is a good fixture to draw Githurai AllStars, and we cannot afford to underrate them. The game will only be decided on the pitch with the 11 players,” he said in an interview with the club’s media site.

Aiming higher

“Last season, we exited at the quarterfinal stage, and this time we are set to aim higher and reach the finals,” he stated.

In a message to the club’s fanbase, Juma urged the fans to keep the hope as the club eyes more improvements after the arrival of coach Bernard Mwalala.

“We have turned a new leaf. Everyone in the club is enjoying a morale boost and pushing themselves hard. I believe it is possible that we can go all the way to the final. My message to the fans is that they continue supporting us as they have been doing. We are now on a good run, and their support will be key for us to carry on,” he added.

15 FKF PL teams

The Dockers are among the 15 KPL sides in contention for the new Ksh3 million prize money unveiled by the competition organisers.

Other FKF PL sides are defending champions, Nairobi United, AFC Leopards, and Gor Mahia.

Naibois will hit the road for an away trip to Malindi in their first attempt to lay a defense for their title

“We kick off our Mozzart Bet Cup title defense on the road, heading to Malindi to face Malindi Sub County champions L-15 Football Club, now competing in the County League in the round of 64. The round of 64 matches will be played in the second weekend of February 7/8,” the statement concluded.

New prize money

The competition run by the FKF comes with a new incentive for participating clubs after the confirmation of an increase in the prize money for the 2026 competition.

The champions will now walk away with Ksh3 million, up from Ksh2 million, while the runners-up will receive Ksh2 million, a Ksh1 million boost.

Teams finishing third will pocket Ksh1.5 million, double the previous Ksh750, 000, while the fourth-placed sides will take home Ksh1 million, up from Ksh500,000.
