AFC Leopards sign Namaan Balecho from Bandari as rebuild continues

Football Kenya Federation Premier League heavyweights AFC Leopards have confirmed the signing of winger Namaan Balecho from coastal side Bandari FC.
In a club statement released on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, Ingwe confirmed that the former Tusker FC winger has penned a two-year deal with coach Fred Ambani’s charges.
“AFC Leopards is happy to announce that winger Eric Namaan Balecho has joined the club for a period of two years.” The statement said in brief. The former AFC Leopards Youth player joins Leopards from FKF-PL side Bandari FC. Balecho has previously featured for Murang’a Seal and Tusker FC.
Musungu joins Ingwe
At the same time, the 1998 KPL champions have also announced that centre back Robinson Musungu has joined the club on a 2 years contract from FKF-PL side Mara Sugar FC. The defender has previously featured for NSL side Vihiga United.

Still active in the transfer business, AFC Leopards on Monday, July 27, 2026, confirmed that Ugandan international Taddeo Lwanga has joined the outfit from Ugandan Premier League side Vipers FC.
Lwanga, a software engineer is capped 26 times by Uganda Cranes. Ingwe has described him as a midfielder who brings massive experience to Fred Ambani’s squad, having also previously featured for Rwandan and Tanzanian giants APR FC and Simba SC respectively. He joins compatriot Samuel Ssenyonjo at the Den.
Beefing up coaching department
Strengthening the coaching department ahead of the new season, AFC Leopards have a new addition to their technical bench as Bernard Mwalala has joined the team as the first assistant coach.

The experienced former FKF Cup-winning coach joins the Leopards from Bandari FC, where he served as the head coach. He has also been a head coach at Nzoia Sugar FC , Kakamega Homeboys and Ulinzi Stars .
The former Kenyan International has also served as an assistant coach at Tanzania’s Coastal Union and FKF-PL side Shabana FC among many others.
