KPL transfers: Gor Mahia, AFC Leopards and Shabana unveil major squad changes for 2026/27 season

Kenyan football giants Gor Mahia, AFC Leopards and Shabana FC have made significant changes to their squads ahead of the 2026/27 Football Kenya Federation Premier League season, with the three clubs unveiling extensive lists of incoming and outgoing players.
The transfer business, that officially ended on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, points to a busy off-season as the clubs reshape their squads ahead of the new campaign.
Shabana make extensive squad changes
Shabana FC have brought in a number of new players while releasing several members of their previous squad.
Among the players joining the Kisii-based side are Louise Ingavi, Sigmunn Maina, Hafiz Alhassan, Collins Okumu, Dennis Wanjala, Alex Onchwari, Lazarazu Otieno, Daniel Kakai, Hebert Daniel Sanday, Edwin Njumba, Brian Okinyi, Pavelh Ndžila, Derrick Otanga, Dennis Oalo and Daniel Bichiok John.
The club has also seen a large number of departures.
Those listed as leaving Shabana include Gilbert Abala, Mohamed Abdallah, Papa Diallo, Keith Imbali, Maxwell Muchesia, Kevin Musamali, Bronson Nsubuga, Mark Okola, Brian Olega, Caleb Kefa Omondi, Victor Omondi, Eric Otieno, Stephen Otieno, Wycliffe Omondi Otieno, John Owira and Instine Wanjala.
The scale of the changes suggests Shabana are undertaking a major rebuild as they prepare for the 2026/27 season.
Gor Mahia reshape squad
Defending league champions Gor Mahia have also made considerable changes to their playing unit as they aim to retain their title. Gor Mahia also have demanding assignments in the CAF Champions League this season.
The club’s incoming list features Ebenezer Ocran, Denis Omedi, Humphrey Katasi, David Odhiambo, Michael Onyango, Enock Momanyi, Paul Okoth, Lesley Owino, Hansel Ochieng, Daniel Sakari and Portipher Odhiambo.
Gor Mahia have simultaneously released or moved on a number of players, including Bryson Wangai, Enock Morisson, Christopher Ochieng, Elly Owande, Fidel Origa, Gad Mathews, Geoffrey Ochieng, Levin Odhiambo, Mark Shaban, Siraji Mohammed, Ernest Wendo and Philemon Otieno.
The poster indicates that Mark Shaban and Siraji Mohammed are leaving on loan, highlighting that not every outgoing player represents a permanent departure from the club.
Gor Mahia’s recruitment will be closely watched as the club looks to assemble a squad capable of competing on the domestic front while maintaining its status among Kenya’s leading sides.
AFC Leopards add new faces
AFC Leopards have also been active in the transfer market, with Taddeo Lwanga, Adama Kanteh, Tom Ikara, Musa Ceesay, Robinson Musungu, Septianos Wekesa, Luke Kevin Onesmas, Eric Balecho and Emuria Issa listed among their new arrivals.
The Leopards have also recorded several departures.
Players listed as leaving the club include Humphrey Katasi, Christopher Koloti, Kennedy Owino, Victor Omune, Jamal Obedi, Dend Kuai, Dennis Kikwae, Bryan Wanyama, Brian Mandela, Hassan Beja and James Ssetuba.
The arrival of players such as Ugandan midfielder Taddeo Lwanga and goalkeeper Tom Ikara adds further interest to Leopards’ preparations, while the departures indicate that the club is also looking to refresh its squad.
