Environmentalist Truphena Muthoni has heaped praises on Nairobi County’s Head of Customer Care Department, Geoffrey Mosiria, following their recent meeting.

Taking to her X account on Wednesday, Truphena expressed her gratitude to Mosiria for his encouragement and guidance.

“Thank you very much, Katibu Mosiria, for your word of encouragement and the knowledge you dispensed to me. Indeed, you’re a great man,” she said.

This comes hours after their meeting, where Mosiria humorously claimed that he had broken the Guinness World Record after hugging Truphena, who recently captured national attention for hugging a tree continuously for 72 hours.

“Leo mimi pia nimebreak world record ya kuhug Guinness World Record holder, Ambassador Truphena Muthoni, for 72 straight seconds,” Mosiria wrote on his social media.

He further joked about seeking recognition for his feat, adding, “I hope watarecognise hii yangu pia jameni, si rahisi.”

Mosiria also expressed deep admiration for Truphena’s dedication to environmental conservation. He revealed plans to support her tree-planting mission by purchasing 72 seedlings in honour of her record-breaking tree-hugging challenge.

“As Katibu Mkuu wa Ushirikisho na Huduma kwa Wananchi and a champion of environmental conservation, I will purchase 72 seedlings that I’ll gift her so that she gets to plant them anywhere along the Nairobi River,” Mosiria stated.

He added a personal tribute, saying he would plant an additional 80 seedlings in remembrance of his late father, who passed away at the age of 80.

“I’m really proud of her and will continue supporting her in every way,” he concluded.

Truphena Muthoni rose to national prominence last week after hugging an indigenous tree for 72 continuous hours in Nyeri.

The act aimed to raise awareness about environmental conservation and climate change.
