Revealed: MP Ng’eno’s body and 5 others were burnt beyond recognition
By Paulette Mboga, March 1, 2026The Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) received six bodies after a helicopter crash in Nandi, and officials said the bodies were burnt beyond recognition.
Philip Kirwa, the CEO of Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital, confirmed the condition of the bodies and asked the public to understand the situation.
While addressing the press on Saturday, February 28, 2026, he said, “Leo tumepokea mili 6 ya ajali ya helicopter imetokezea huko Nandi,” as the hospital team handled the remains.

Kirwa explained that the damage to the bodies was severe and that there was nothing clear to see at the moment.
He said, “So vile tumeangalia hizo mili, tungeomba mtuwie radhi kwa sababu hakuna kitu ya kuona, vile mwili imeharibika vibaya.”
The hospital said the fire and the crash caused heavy damage to the bodies.
Condition of the bodies after the crash
He added that the bodies were burnt in a way that made it hard to tell who was who.
“Mwili imechomeka, hata huwezi identify nani ni nani,” Kirwa said as he spoke about the state of the remains.
He asked people to understand that viewing the bodies now would not be possible. Kirwa said the bodies may only look like human bodies after proper work is done.

He said, “Kuangalia labda baada ya kuundwa vizuri ionekane kama mwili ya binadamu.”
He explained that both the fire and the crash caused the current state of the bodies. He also said that six bodies had been received and arranged at the hospital.
“Saa hizi pamoja na moto na ajali yenyewe. But ni mwili 6, tumepata zimepangwa vizuri,” he said.

The hospital team said they had done what they could with what they received. Kirwa said the hospital was handling the situation as carefully as possible and asked for patience from the public.
He said, “So sisi tungeomba tu kwa niaba ya watu wa area hii, mjue , hakuna kitu ya kusema mnataka kuangalia.”
He repeated that there was nothing to see in the current state of the bodies.
Ng’eno was among the six on board a chopper that crashed at Chepkiep, Mosop Constituency, Nandi County.
