Rest gently, my love: Johana Ng’eno’s wife shares emotional tribute during requiem mass

The wife of the late Emurua Dikirr Member of Parliament, Johana Ng’eno, Naiyanoi Ntutu, has remembered him as the love of her youth during a requiem mass held in his honour on Wednesday, March 4, 2026.

She described their early days together and the devotion he showed to their children, calling him a gentle and loving father.

Speaking at the mass, Naiyanoi said, “The husband of my youth, if I say your name…you are the love of my early days. We were young, and you made it beautiful and less frightening.”

She recalled how he cherished their children, playing with them and looking at them as his greatest accomplishment.

She added that losing him felt like losing a part of her own life.

“You were my beginning. Losing you feels like losing the music of my youth. The laughter, the dreams, the simplicity…of believing we had endless time,” she said.

Naiyanoi emphasised that the bond they shared will never fade.

“Even death cannot take what we build. It cannot erase the love, the memories. The family we created. You will always be my Joha. Rest gently, my love. You are forever part of me,” she said, highlighting the depth of her grief and love.

The nation continues to mourn the loss of the lawmaker, who was killed in a tragic helicopter crash in Nandi County.

The helicopter, an Airbus Helicopters H125, registration 5Y‑DSB, was on a charter flight when it went down in the Chepkiep area of Mosop Sub‑County in the late afternoon of February 28, 2026. Police said the aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing amid heavy rain and bad weather, then attempted to take off again before it crashed and burst into flames.
