Muhoozi demands Ksh128B from the US in latest social media rant
Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has demanded Ksh128.5 billion from the United States of America.
In a statement posted on X on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, Muhoozi asserted that the money must be paid, claiming that it is owed to the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF).
“I still demand $ 1 billion from the USA for the UPDF annually. And they will pay it,” Muhoozi stated.

Muhoozi, who is the son of long-serving Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni, announced his decision to take a break from social media after a viral rant.
The break did not materialise as he surfaced on the platform, firing a series of tweets that escalated an already ugly situation.
Muhoozi slams US Senator Jim Risch
He slammed the US Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Jim Risch, who had earlier indicated that Muhoozi had crossed the red line.
“The president’s son, and likely successor, cannot just delete tweets and issue hollow apologies. The U.S. will not tolerate this level of instability and recklessness when American personnel, U.S. interests, and innocent lives in the region are at stake,” Risch declared after Muhoozi tweeted suspending cooperation with the US embassy in Kampala before deleting the tweets and apologising.
He escalated his clash with the senator, telling him off in a fiery statement and challenging him to pursue whatever course he deems fit.
“My name is not ‘Commander @mkainerugaba ‘. My name is General Muhoozi Kainerugaba. What ‘Red line’ have I crossed according to you? You can re-evaluate whatever you want as far as our co-operation is concerned, but you will never DEMEAN and DEGRADE us. You will never make us your slaves,” he said.
Invoking the name of King Charles
He invoked the name of King Charles III, confirming that while he may have differences with the Senator, he is okay with the king.

“I may have strong differences with a Senator in the United States, but I can never have differences with the King-Emperor His Majesty Charles III. He is my king too,” he stated.
Muhoozi has been a controversial character on X, making controversial statements despite his high rank in the military and relationship with the president.
