Kenya Power lists Nairobi areas to experience blackout on Wednesday, June 17

Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions affecting several parts of Nairobi and other regions on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, as part of routine network maintenance works.
In a notice issued on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, the utility company said the planned outages are aimed at improving service delivery and maintaining the stability of the electricity network.
The interruptions will affect different areas across Nairobi, the Central Rift, North Rift, and Coast regions at varying times during the day.
“Good evening. The listed areas will be under planned power maintenance tomorrow (17th June 2026). The interruption is part of network maintenance,” Kenya Power stated.
Nairobi region
According to Kenya Power, in Nairobi, residents of Imara Daima will experience a power interruption between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
The affected areas include parts of Villa Franca Estate, Tashcom Supermarket area, Tsavo Gardens Apartments, Valeries Place, Scion Hospital, Elegant Apartments, Kenwood Court, Southern Apartments, Kings Millennium, Mukuru Health Centre, Kingswood Park Estate, Think Twice Imara, and surrounding customers.

Central Rift region – Narok County
In Narok County, parts of Ololunga, Sekenani, and Ngoswani will experience blackout between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Affected areas include Ololunga Market, Katakala Market, Ngoringori, Aitong Market, Ilkinyei Market, Sogoo Market, Temdwet Market, Oleshapan Market, Olmegenyu Market, Lemanet Market, Oletukat Market, and Ewaso Ngiro Market.
Narosora Market, Entasekera Market, Olmeshutie Market, Maji Moto Market, Ngoswani Market, Nkoilale Market, Sekenani Market, Talek, Oloraimutia Market, Naikara Market, and surrounding customers.
North Rift region – Uasin Gishu County
In Uasin Gishu County, residents of Kapkoi, Bayete, and Tarakwa will also be affected between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
The affected areas include Cheptiret Primary School, Kapkoi, Kapkoiga, Kerita, Koiluget, Rurigi, Ndungulu, Megun, Chelalachibei, Kapkeno, Ndanai, Burnt Forest, Kondoo, Cherus, and nearby customers.

Coast Region – Kwale County
In Kwale County, parts of Lunga and Vigurungani will experience outages between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
The affected areas include Lunga, Horohoro, Kenyaloma, Vanga, Mwangemi, and surrounding customers.
Additionally, Kenya Power has apologised for the inconvenience caused.
“We regret any inconvenience that may occur during the operations,” the utility company apologised.
Residents in the affected areas are advised to plan accordingly during the maintenance period.
