Kenya Power lists areas to experience power outages on Tuesday, August 4

Kenya Power has announced planned power interruptions in parts of Migori, Kiambu, Nyeri, Embu, Laikipia and Mombasa counties on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, to facilitate routine network maintenance.

In a notice issued to customers on Monday evening, August 3, 2026, the utility company said the scheduled outages will allow engineers to carry out maintenance works aimed at improving the reliability and stability of the electricity supply.

“Good evening, the listed areas will be under planned power maintenance tomorrow (4th August 2026). The interruption is part of network maintenance,” Kenya Power announced.

The interruptions will affect different areas from between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm or 9:00 am and 5:00 pm, depending on the location.

Here are specific areas set to experience the planned power blackout tomorrow.

Migori County

According to KPLC, in the South Nyanza Region, customers in parts of Migori County will be without electricity from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The affected areas include Saa Yote, Wuoth Ogik, Kadika, Ngege, Nyamware, Siling, Alara, Mapera, Waitharaga, Osingo and neighbouring customers.

Kiambu County

Similarly, in the Northeastern Region, power will be interrupted in parts of Kiambu County from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Areas expected to be affected include Kenchick, Kiboko Farm, Ndula Market, Makutano Market, Kahonoki, Kilimambogo Teachers Training College, Magogoni Market, Ngoliba Market, Gateiguru Market, Rubiru, Chui Rapid, Makawa Dam, New Nginyi Dam, Old Nginyi Dam, Nginyi Primary School, Lembeni, Kwa Jimmy Market, Marcvast, parts of Del Monte, Kona Mbaya and Zen Petrol Station, together with adjacent customers.

Nyeri, Embu and Laikipia counties

In the Mt Kenya Region, customers in parts of Nyeri County will experience a planned outage from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The affected areas include Bellevue Market, Bellevue Village, Kabendera, Gatarakwa Market, Kiboya Village, Mogaka and nearby customers.

In Embu County, electricity will also be interrupted between 9am and 5pm in Kiritiri Police Station, Umau Market, Mutus Market, Kabururi, Mwanyari, Kwamacembe, Rwethe, Munyori, Kirima, Safaricom Kianjiru, Kamunyange and Kaweru, as well as surrounding areas.

Meanwhile, customers in parts of Laikipia County will experience a longer outage from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The interruption will affect Timau Town, Kwa Nganga Market, Maritati Market, Kiambogo Market, Ethi Market, Ngare Ndare Market, Ngusichi Market, Ngusichi Secondary School, River Side Village, Siraji Farm, Batian Farm, Tima Flow Farm, Lol Marik Farm, Timau Lodge, Loberia Farm and Big Flower Farm,and adjacent customers.

Mombasa County

Additionally, in the Coast Region, parts of Mombasa County will also be without electricity from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The affected areas include Mikindani Estate, Corrugated Sheets, Karibu Flour Mills, Dola Feeds, Transpares, Sea Harvest, Roadtainers, Awanand, Motrex, Yakuti Steel, Owino Uhuru, Gana Hola, Kwa Shee and Mikindani Hospital, together with neighbouring customers.

How to check power outages

The utility company also encouraged customers to check its latest power interruption schedules for updates.

“To access the latest schedule, check under the most recent date. You can also enjoy added convenience by chatting with Nuru via: https://chatbot.kplc.co.ke,” Kenya Power stated.
