Kenya Power lists areas to experience blackout on Wednesday, February 18

Kenya Power has announced scheduled power outages across several regions on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.
The utility said the blackouts are necessary to carry out maintenance and improve service reliability. Residents and businesses are advised to plan accordingly, as electricity will be unavailable during the specified times in different areas.
In a statement, Kenya Power wrote, “Good evening, Please be advised that there will be a scheduled power interruption as outlined in the attached Images.”
Nairobi region
In Nairobi, power will be switched off in the Spring Valley area from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Affected locations include Spring Valley Rd, Kitsuru Rd, Thigiri Ridge, Thigiri In, Thigiri Gds, Thigiri Rd, Ngecha Rd, Kirawa Rd, Kihara Rd, Gachie, and adjacent customers.

Kenya Power warned that the electricity supply will resume only after maintenance is completed.
South Nyanza region
Parts of Migori County will experience outages on the same day. In Migori Town, power will be unavailable from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Areas affected include Migori Town, Migori TTC, Oruba, Milimani, Migori Hosp, Stage, and adjacent customers. Residents are advised to make alternative arrangements during this period.
Mt. Kenya region
In Nyeri County, power will be off in Kahiga Market from 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. This includes Kahiga, Kahiga Secondary School, Kahiga Dispensary, Safaricom Boosters, Airtel Boosters, and adjacent customers. Later, from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m., Kimahuri and Kabaru areas will be affected.

Locations include Kimahuri Mkt, Kabaru, Ndathi, Mountain Lodge, Ebenezar, Kanya-kine, MugumoIni, Kaa-Iri, Muganyoni, Kimahuri Dispensary, and nearby customers.
Parts of Murang’a County will also face outages in the Thika Coffee Mills area from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Affected locations include Hanna Roses, Laurine Flowers, Kenya-Nut Gatanga Rd, Thika Grove, Thika Coffee Mills, and adjacent customers. Kenya Power said the interruptions are part of routine maintenance to ensure safety and a stable supply.
North Eastern region
In Kitui County, areas including Kamulewa, Yumbu, and Mathuki will experience blackouts from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Locations affected are Enziu Secondary, Kamulewa Dispensary, Yumbu Mkt and Dispensary, Yumbu Farm, Kavaliki Pri, Kalitini Pri, Mathuki Mkt, Kyume, Mwambuni Pri, and surrounding customers. Residents are urged to plan for the power interruptions and take necessary precautions.
