Kenya Power lists areas to experience blackout on Valentine’s Day

Kenya Power has announced a planned power outage that will affect parts of Kajiado and Kiambu counties on Saturday, February 14, 2026.
In a public notice released on Friday, February 13, the utility company explained that the temporary interruption is due to routine network maintenance. The blackout is scheduled to take place from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
‘Good Evening. The listed areas will be under planned power maintenance tomorrow (14th February 2026). ^WN.”
Customers in several locations within the Nairobi region, specifically parts of Kajiado County, will experience the power interruption. This includes areas around Isara and places such as Amboseli Sopa Lodge, Jesbriquette, Mada, AA Lodge, Sentrim, Nice Place, Kibo Safaris, Ngong Veg, and others.
Similarly, parts of Kiambu County will also be impacted by the blackout. In the northeastern region, areas including Redhill, Karura Munyaka, and parts of Ndenderu Rumenye will face power outages during the same hours. This will affect residential and commercial establishments like Tropical Heat, Redhill Villas, Redhill Posta, St. Julian’s, Terasol Flowers, and the Safaricom Data Centre, among others.
