Kenya Power lists areas to experience blackout on Saturday, February 21

Kenya Power has announced a planned power blackout that will affect parts of Nairobi County on Saturday, February 21, 2026.

In a notice issued on Friday, February 20, 2026, the utility company cited routine network maintenance as the reason for the planned interruption.

“Good Evening. The listed areas will be affected by planned power interruptions tomorrow (21st February 2026). The interruption is part of network maintenance.”

The planned outage will run from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm in selected areas within the Nairobi region.

In Westlands, the blackout will affect parts of General Mathenge Drive, Peponi Road, Peponi Gardens, sections of Spring Valley Road, Donyo Sabuk Inn, Pine Wood and nearby customers. Residents and businesses in these areas should expect to be without electricity for the better part of the day as technicians carry out maintenance work on the network.

Another outage has also been scheduled in parts of Kenyatta National Hospital and Upper Hill. Areas that will be affected include the Kenyatta National Hospital Cancer Centre, Hospital Road, Mara Road, the Government Chemist, Nairobi Club, the National Library, the Ministry of Lands, parts of Fifth Ngong Road and Avenue, Nairobi Area Police, Blue Shield Insurance, Kenya Commercial Bank Upper Hill and Equity Bank Upper Hill, as well as surrounding customers.
