Kenya Power lists areas to be affected by planned blackout on Friday, May 29

Kenya Power has announced planned maintenance that will lead to power interruptions in several parts of Nairobi and Kisii counties on Friday, May 29, 2026.

In a statement on Thursday, May 28, 2026, the utility company said the planned outage is part of routine maintenance aimed at improving electricity supply reliability and strengthening the distribution network.

“Good evening, kindly find the list of areas scheduled for power maintenance tomorrow (29.05.2026)”, Kenya Power said.

All affected areas will experience outages between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.

Nairobi Region

In the Nairobi Region, parts of Nairobi South, including Donholm and Savannah Road, will experience interruptions during the maintenance period.

Affected areas include Total Energies Donholm, Family Bank Donholm, Equity Bank Donholm, Co-operative Bank Donholm, Mate Plaza, Mima Centre, New and Old Donholm estates, Equity Afya Hospital, Mara Savannah, Savannah, Greenfields, Sunrise Estate, Donholm Phase 5 and 8, Harambee Sacco Estates, Oyster Village and surrounding customers.

Kisii County

In Kisii County, parts of Gesonso and Ombata Estate will also be affected within the same period.

Affected areas include Gesonso Market, Gesonso Police Station, Ombata Estate, Nyakungu Primary School and adjacent customers.

Another cluster covering Etago, Nyamaiya and Moticho will also experience outages within the same time frame.

Areas expected to be affected include Kenyenya Primary School, Nyangweta SDA Secondary School, Etago Market, Nyansembe, Nyakeyo, Suguta, Moticho, Engou, Nyabera, Nyamaiya, Ekona, Mogenda, Ochodororo, Maroon and surrounding customers.
