Kenya Power announces blackout in parts of one county on Wednesday, December 24

Kenya Power has announced a planned power maintenance in parts of Kajiado County set for Wednesday, December 24, 2025.

According to a notice posted on X on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, the blackout is scheduled to last from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., affecting residents, businesses, and institutions in Kajiado Town and surrounding areas.

The maintenance will affect several neighbourhoods and key establishments, including Saina, Blue Sky, Oloyiangalani, Saab Royale, Signs Feeds, Kajiado Referral Hospital, Maasai Polytechnic, Kajiado County Government offices, Sambel, Maasai Mara, Taya Chemicals, and other adjacent customers. Residents and businesses in these areas are advised to make necessary arrangements to minimise disruption.

Kenya Power advised that customers in these areas plan accordingly to avoid inconvenience during the maintenance period.

The utility company stated that planned maintenance exercises are critical for ensuring a reliable electricity supply and minimising unexpected power interruptions.

These activities are carried out to inspect, service, and upgrade electrical infrastructure, which includes transformers, distribution lines, and other essential components of the electricity network.

While temporary outages can cause inconvenience, Kenya Power assures the public that these measures are necessary to maintain a stable and reliable electricity supply.

“Good evening, the following areas will be on a planned power maintenance tomorrow (24.12.2025),” the utility company stated.

Customers are urged to remain patient and take appropriate steps to manage the impact of the blackout during the maintenance window.
