Kenya Power announces blackout in parts of 4 counties on Thursday, January 15

Kenya Power has announced scheduled power maintenance that will affect parts of four counties on Thursday, January 15, 2026.

In a statement shared on Facebook on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, Kenya Power revealed that the maintenance work is expected to cause temporary electricity outages in several regions.

In Nairobi County, residents in South C will experience power interruptions from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Areas affected include part of Muhoho Avenue, Mama Ngina Children’s Home, Rubis, parts of Ole Shapara Avenue, Reliance Hospital, KEWI, Al Jazeera, Uchumi Road, Parkview Estate, Heshima Estate, Five Star Estate, Olive Road, Kawi Complex Road, Midland Court, Halai Estate, Ruby Estate, Memon Estate, Akiba Estate, and neighbouring customers.

Parts of Nakuru County in the Central Rift region, specifically Milimani and Forest Road, will also face outages from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Affected locations include Kirima Market, Safaricom Booster, Menengai Boosters, Alps Hotel, Maragoli Road, Graceland Hotels, Apex Hotel, Seven Heights, Merati Heights, and surrounding areas.

“CENTRAL RIFT REGION PARTS OF NAKURU COUNTY AREA: PART OF MILIMANI, FOREST RD DATE: Thursday 15.01.2026 TIME: 8.00 Α.Μ -5.00P.M. Part of Milimani, Forest Rd, Kirima Mkt, Safaricom Booster, Menengai Boosters, Alps Hotel, Maragoli Rd, Graceland Hotels, Apex Hotel, Seven Heights, Merati Heights & adjacent customers,” the statement added.

In Western Kenya, Port Victoria in Busia County will experience power interruptions from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Key areas impacted include the Kenya Power office, Port Victoria Market, Law Court, Omena Beach, Bukoma Beach, St. Ann Secondary School, John Osogo Secondary School, Bulemia Market, Port Victoria Hospital, and adjacent customers.

Parts of Isiolo County in the Mt. Kenya region will also be affected between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Areas scheduled for maintenance include Isiolo Town, Archers Post, Tank Battalion, Pepo La Tumaini, Bula Mpya Secondary School, Kambi Ortha, Kambi Bulle, Shambani, Kambi Garba, Mabatini, El Boran, Sarova Shaba, Kalama, Lengusaka, Lerata, Wamba Town, Swari, Lolokwe, Mwangaza Water Supply, Airport, Kandebe Market, 78 Tank Battalion, Kambi Sharrif, Osman Ndima, Ntulele Primary, Kisima Borehole, Kambi Ya Juu, Kula Mawe, Soko Mjinga, Mwangaza, County Assembly, Silver Bell, 19 Coins, Glados Hotel, Basalinga, Total, Shell, National Cereals Board, General Hospital, Downtown, Police, Safi Estate, Bulla Pesa, and neighbouring customers.

“Kambi Sharrif, Osman Ndima, Ntulele Primary, Kisima Borehole, Kambi Ya Juu, Kula Mawe, Soko Mjinga, Mwangaza, County Assembly, Siver Bell, 19 Coins, Glados Hotel, Basalinga, Total, Shell, National Cereals Board, General Hospital, Down Town, Police, Safi Estate, Bulla Pesa & adjacent customers,” the statement read in part.

Kenya Power then advised residents and businesses in the affected areas to plan accordingly and ensure they take necessary precautions during the maintenance period.
