Kenya Power announces blackout in parts of 4 counties on Sunday, March 1

Kenya Power has announced planned power interruptions set to affect several areas across four counties on Sunday, March 1, 2026.

In a public notice issued on Saturday, February 28, 2026, the utility company stated that the scheduled outages are part of ongoing network maintenance aimed at improving electricity reliability and service delivery.

“Good Evening. The listed area will be affected by planned power interruptions tomorrow (01st March 2026). The interruption is part of network maintenance. For the advanced notice, use http://bit.ly/31u4jY4. To access the latest schedule, check under the most recent date,” they wrote.

According to the statement, the interruptions will affect selected areas within Nairobi, Nakuru, Nyeri, and Kiambu counties at different times during the day.

In Nairobi County, the outage will affect the Jesus Celebration Centre area and its surroundings from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Key locations set to experience the interruption include Jesus Celebration Centre, Kitchen Professional, Fiveveg Trading Company, Caribbean Food Embakasi, Tononoka Paper Limited, Five Star Manufacturers, Transami, Amicabre Travel Services, DK Engineering, Embakasi Village Crafts Juakali Association, Amiran Kenya, G4S Security Services, Duldul Godowns, and nearby customers.

In Nakuru County, specifically parts of Ngata and the Mega Paper area, power will be unavailable from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Areas expected to be affected include Rosetto Flowers, Mega Paper, Royal Steel, Kenya Pipe Mine in Soilo, African Blooms, Carzan, Gicheha Farm, Sobeya Centre, Rigogo, Shalom, Upperhill Soilo Estate, and adjacent customers.

In Nyeri County, the blackout will impact areas such as Karindundu and Muthua from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Affected locations include Karatina Market, Mathai Supermarket, Magunas outlets, Ibis Hotel, Starbucks Hotel, Karatina Industrial Area, Karindundu PCEA Church, Kirigu Catholic Church, Mathaithi Secondary School, Central Coffee Miller, Gatomboya Coffee Factory, Safaricom boosters, Airtel boosters, and surrounding customers.

Meanwhile, in Kiambu County, areas including Gitaru, Magana, and Regen will experience power interruptions from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The outage will affect Gitaru, Kanjeru, Nyathuna, Gikuni, Tingati areas, Kikuyu Stage, Rungiri, Regen Shopping Centre, Ngwaci Road, Magana Farm, Magana factories, and nearby customers.

Kenya Power then advised customers in the affected regions to plan accordingly, noting that electricity supply will be restored once the maintenance works are completed.
