Joyful moment as Mosiria helps mother reunite with missing son

It was a joyful moment when Geoffrey Mosiria helped a woman who had her son missing reunite.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, Mosiria said the street boy had run away from home last year and had been living in Nairobi’s CBD.

Mosiria shared that the breakthrough came after he recorded a short video during one of his usual night patrols in the city centre.

“Last week, while patrolling the streets of Nairobi CBD at night, I interacted with many street children as I normally do. I recorded a short video to document what I was seeing and to raise awareness about the growing number of young boys and girls forced to survive on the streets,” he wrote.

A neighbour later recognised one of the boys in the clip. The child had reportedly gone missing on December 26, 2025, and his mother had been searching for him for months without success.

“When she saw the video, she immediately identified her son and reached out to me,” Mosiria said.

Since then, the family had been travelling to town often, hoping to trace him, but each visit ended in disappointment.

Emotional reunion in the CBD

On Tuesday, luck finally turned in their favour. Mosiria revealed that while he was again in the CBD, one of the officers informed him that the boy had been located.

“We quickly contacted the parents, who were nearby. They rushed to the scene, and indeed, it was their son,” he shared.

The boy later explained why he had left home. After a heartfelt talk with his mother, he agreed to return home.

“The relief and gratitude on that mother’s face cannot be described. She kept thanking me, saying that if I had not taken and shared that video, they might never have known where to start looking,” Mosiria wrote.

He added that the experience reminded him why he shares such content online.

“When I post videos of street children, it is not for attention. It is because I care. Many of these children are someone’s sons and daughters. They belong in school, with their families, and dreaming about their future, not sleeping on cold pavements,” he said.
