3 arrested as police seize 21 rolls of bhang and narcotics in separate raids

Three people of interest have been arrested in the Coast region following coordinated raids by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) targeting illegal drugs.
The Anti-Narcotics Unit (Coast Region), working with the DCI’s Operation Support Unit, conducted raids based on credible intelligence.
In Kisimani, officers recovered a whitish powdery substance believed to be narcotics and several unserviceable mobile phones from the home of Daudi Ahmed Ali. He was taken to Bamburi Police Station, and the items are pending forensic analysis.
“Acting on credible intelligence, detectives conducted a raid at a residence in the Kisimani area belonging to Daudi Ahmed Ali. During the search, officers recovered a whitish powdery substance wrapped in clear polythene, suspected to be narcotics, as well as assorted unserviceable mobile phones believed to be stolen property. The suspect was arrested and escorted to Bamburi Police Station, where he was booked. The recovered items were secured pending weighing, sampling, and forensic analysis,” DCI stated.
In Majaoni, Shanzu, detectives recovered loose dry plant material suspected to be drugs, 21 sachets of similar material, and KSh 3,700 in cash from a rental house belonging to John Wangumo Wachiri. He is also in custody at Bamburi Police Station, awaiting further examination.
“In a separate operation at Majaoni area in Shanzu, detectives searched a rental house belonging to John Wangumo Wachiri. The search led to the recovery of a red shopping bag containing loose dry plant material suspected to be narcotics, 21 sachets of similar material wrapped in clear polythene, and KSh 3,700 in assorted denominations believed to be proceeds of crime.
The suspect was arrested and taken to Bamburi Police Station, where both he and the exhibits remain in custody pending further analysis,” the statement by the DCI read.

In Ukunda Township at Corner Musa, 21 large rolls of dry plant material suspected to be cannabis were recovered from the residence of Popin Mutisya, who has been booked at Ukunda Police Station.
The DCI said the fight against drug trafficking and substance abuse remains a top priority and urged the public to report any suspicious activity.
“Meanwhile, at Corner Musa within Ukunda Township, a search conducted at the residence of Popin Mutisya yielded 21 large rolls of dry plant material suspected to be cannabis. The suspect was booked at Ukunda Police Station, and the exhibits secured pending weighing and sampling.”
