Another major reason people go to the gym is social connection.

In Nairobi, especially, gyms often double as networking spaces.

Friendships form, casual conversations happen, and people build routines around familiarity rather than discipline.

It usually starts after something small but powerful. A transformation video, a conversation with a friend, a movie scene or even a random moment of self-reflection.

Suddenly, the decision is made. It feels like this is the time to start.

The first days are intense. Energy is high, consistency feels natural, and goals feel very clear. But this motivation is often emotional rather than structured.
