Hair Transplants, Botox and other cosmetic surgeries celebrities do other than BBL
By Steve Ireri, November 30, 2025For months now, Kenya has witnessed a wave of celebrities openly embracing or hinting at Brazilian butt lift procedures.
Social feeds are full of before and after shots, coded captions and influencer clinics proudly marketing the silhouette that has taken over Nairobi’s beauty spaces. But despite the surge, the BBL is not the entire story of cosmetic enhancement globally. In
Globally, particularly in Hollywood, celebrities gravitate toward procedures that emphasise subtle transformation, long-term results, and camera-ready appearances rather than dramatic body reshaping.
These surgeries have remained popular among stars for decades and continue to shape beauty standards on and off screen.
Here are seven of them:
Hair transplants
Hair transplants have become increasingly common among Hollywood stars who want to restore thinning hairlines or patch bald spots while keeping results natural.
Actors such as John Travolta and entrepreneur Elon Musk have undergone the procedure.
During a hair transplant, healthy hair follicles are taken from the back or sides of the scalp and carefully implanted in areas with thinning or no hair. The process can take several hours but produces natural-looking results over time.
Unlike the Brazilian butt lift in Kenya, which dramatically alters body shape, hair transplants quietly restore confidence without drawing public attention.
Botox
Botox is one of the most widely used non-invasive cosmetic procedures among global celebrities.
Hollywood actress Jennifer Aniston, known for her long-running role in the television series “Friends,” has admitted to using Botox to maintain smooth skin and relaxed facial expressions.
The treatment involves injecting botulinum toxin into specific facial muscles, temporarily relaxing them to reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

Results typically last three to six months, making it ideal for artistes and entertainers constantly in the public eye.
Unlike the dramatic transformations seen in Kenyan BBL trends, Botox is subtle and enhances rather than reshapes features.
Lip fillers
Lip fillers have become a staple for celebrities seeking refinement rather than exaggeration. American reality TV personality and beauty entrepreneur Kylie Jenner popularised lip fillers worldwide, although she later emphasised moderation and natural proportions.
The procedure involves injecting dermal fillers into the lips to enhance volume, improve symmetry, and hydrate the tissue.
The results are immediate and can last up to a year, depending on the filler type.
Hollywood stars often combine lip enhancement with other facial treatments to maintain a harmonious and camera-ready appearance.
Rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty, commonly known as a nose job, is used to reshape or refine the nose for aesthetic or functional reasons.
Pop singer and actress Jennifer Lopez reportedly underwent minor adjustments to enhance facial balance. During the procedure, surgeons reshape the nasal bone and cartilage to improve proportions and symmetry.

It can be performed under local or general anesthesia, depending on the complexity. Rhinoplasty focuses on creating natural-looking results that complement the overall facial structure, contrasting with Kenya’s current obsession with singular body-focused procedures.
Facelifts
Modern facelifts have evolved to emphasise muscle repositioning rather than simply tightening skin. Academy Award-winning actress Nicole Kidman has reportedly undergone a facelift to maintain youthful facial contours.
The procedure involves lifting and repositioning underlying facial tissues and trimming excess skin, producing a smoother, rejuvenated appearance. Unlike the BBL trend in Kenya, which highlights a single body feature, facelifts target overall facial harmony and longevity.
Tummy tucks
Tummy tucks, or abdominoplasty, are used by celebrities who want to restore abdominal shape after pregnancy or weight loss.
American singer Beyoncé has reportedly undergone the procedure. Surgeons remove excess skin, tighten weakened abdominal muscles, and contour the midsection.
The procedure produces a toned, firm abdomen without altering other areas of the body.
Eyelid surgery
Eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty, is a subtle but transformative procedure that rejuvenates the eye area by removing excess skin or fat from the eyelids.
Actress Reese Witherspoon, known for her roles in films such as “Legally Blonde,” is among those who have undergone the procedure.
The surgery improves appearance while maintaining natural expressions and is particularly useful for stars under constant scrutiny in front of cameras.
Unlike BBL procedures trending in Kenya, eyelid surgery focuses on enhancing specific facial features in a discreet, elegant manner.
