Women no longer romanticise suffering: Njambi Fever speaks on modern marriages

By , May 13, 2026

Blogger Njambi Fever has shared her views on modern marriages, saying women today no longer romanticise suffering in the name of commitment.

On Tuesday, May 12, 2026, she explained on Instagram that while marriages still exist and love is not dead, women now have more freedom and awareness than previous generations.

“Marriages still last though…” Njambi Fever said.

She explained that women today have more choices when facing challenges in relationships and marriages. According to her, many women now have financial independence, emotional support and the freedom to decide whether to stay or leave.

“It’s just that women nowadays have choices. You can leave, you can stay & strategise, or revenge, you have freedom, you have support & you have finances…” Njambi Fever explained.

Njambi Fever also spoke about older generations and how women were raised to value endurance above happiness or fulfilment in marriage. She explained that many women from the past remained in difficult marriages because society expected them to stay, no matter the situation.

“Kitambo, though, women were taught endurance mattered more,” Njambi Fever said.

Changing views on marriage

The content creator further noted that many grandmothers and mothers stayed in marriages despite not being fulfilled. According to her, staying in difficult situations was often seen as part of commitment and responsibility during those years.

“Our grandmothers & some of our mothers were not fulfilled in their marriages. But they stayed regardless,” Njambi Fever explained.

Njambi Fever, however, maintained that marriage still exists and people are still finding love in modern times. She said the difference today is that women are more aware of themselves and their emotional well-being than before.

“In 2026, marriages do last,” Njambi Fever said.

She also dismissed claims that love no longer exists in today’s relationships. Instead, she explained that women are no longer willing to silently endure unhealthy situations to prove their commitment.

“Love is not dead,” Njambi Fever said.

“But there’s more awareness and women no longer romanticise suffering in the name of commitment,” Njambi Fever added.
