Thee Pluto says true wealth is giving family comfort, not impressing strangers

Entrepreneur and digital content creator Robert Ndegwa Kamau, widely known as Thee Pluto, has shared a reflective message on what true success and wealth mean to him.
Taking to his official Instagram account on Sunday, December 14, 2025, Thee Pluto shared a photo of himself, his mother and his sister who had paid him a visit and disclosed that he has shifted the focus from public validation to family comfort.
The content creator explained that some victories do not need noise or public celebration.
According to him, real wealth is found in simple moments like watching his mother and sister walk into his home, sit comfortably, smile, and feel at peace.
“Some victories don’t need noise. When your mum and your sister walk into your home, sit comfortably, smile and feel at peace, that’s wealth money can’t measure,” Thee Pluto wrote.
He noted that the experience reminded him that the real purpose of growth is not about impressing strangers or seeking external approval, but about creating a safe, dignified, and comfortable space for family.
Thee Pluto added that being able to offer loved ones comfort and a soft place to land is a form of success that money alone cannot measure. Everything else, he said, is merely decoration.

Wealth and failed businesses
In a previous interview, he shared how his forays into various businesses, including short‑term rentals, led to a total loss of Ksh6 million.
Speaking to Dr Ofweneke, Thee Pluto recounted how his three short‑term rental businesses on the coast collapsed. He said he had been earning up to Ksh 150,000 per month from each rental.
Apart from the rental business, the content creator also revealed that he was forced to shut down his other businesses.
“I have lost a lot of money setting up those short-term rental businesses. It cost me like Ksh6 million. I lost all of it, one in Witeithie, I used like Ksh 1.8 million,” he shared.
“There was a post I made about the businesses I failed. In Juja, I had a movie shop, a fast food court, bicycles for hire shop. Witeithie, I had a hotel. I also had 3 short-term rentals in Mombasa Sultan Palace, Kikambala, and Mtwapa, bringing like Ksh150k per month each, they all collapsed.”
