Nurse Judy celebrates friends who stood by her abroad on emotional journey back home

Nurse Judy has celebrated the friends who supported her during an emotional and challenging period abroad. In a series of posts shared on Tuesday, September 29, Judy opened up about the people who became her support system while she was away from her family.
Judy embraces being cared for
Judy has admitted that she was not “cut out” for the constant pressure of being independent, saying she has carried and figured out enough things on her own.
She said she currently has no desire to be strong and independent, but instead wants to be loved, reassured and cared for.
“Miss Independent is officially off duty,” she said, adding that she was going home to be “somebody’s wife and my babies’ mama.”
Judy also shared how emotional she became during her trip, saying the previous three weeks had been extremely difficult and that she had desperately needed her children’s hugs and her husband’s kisses.
She described her husband as someone who reassures her, kisses her forehead and takes care of her affairs so she does not have to worry about everything.
Friends who became family
Judy has taken time to appreciate the people who stood by her while she navigated life abroad.
She particularly celebrated her best friend Betty Musamali, describing their friendship as one built on trust, loyalty and mutual support. Judy revealed that Betty has helped her financially when she needed large amounts for projects, while the two also exchange gifts and encourage each other’s success.
She also praised John and Chemu, whom she described as her first friends in Los Angeles. Their home became a place of comfort during lonely periods, with Judy saying their children reminded her of her own home in Dar es Salaam.
‘I’m not alone’
Judy also thanked Sally and Symo for hosting her for 10 days and Linda Labelle for repeatedly opening her home to her.
She revealed that sharing locations with some friends helped her feel safer while navigating America without her family around.
Judy said being away from family can be lonely, especially when asking for help does not come easily. However, the support she received reminded her that family can also be found in friendships.
Her emotional reflections have given her an opportunity to acknowledge the people who helped her through a difficult season abroad.
