Stephen Kasolo expresses gratitude to his adopted mother in emotional prayer
By Steve Ireri, March 6, 2026Kamba gospel singer Stephen Kasolo has shared a heartfelt and emotional post expressing deep gratitude to the woman who adopted him, Mama Tabitha, describing her as a guiding light during his life.
In a moving prayer shared on Facebook on Thursday, March 5, 2026, the ‘Kitole’ hitmaker called Mama Tabitha his source of protection and guidance.
He reflected on moments of darkness in his life, saying that God sent Mama Tabitha as a light to guide him through difficult times.
“My mother, my mother, God protect her. When I faced darkness, God brought Mama Tabitha as a light,” Kasolo wrote.

He emphasised the deep bond they share, noting how people may not realise that he is her adopted son, but their strong resemblance makes their connection even more special.
He further prayed for her well-being, asking God to watch over her and expressing the gratitude he feels for having her in his life.
“In this world, the one to be celebrated is God. God bless Mama Tabitha. Shine does not even know that I am Mama Tabitha’s adopted son, because we look so much alike,” Kasolo added.
Orphan
Stephen Kasolo’s life has been marked by both tragedy and resilience.
He lost both of his biological parents at a very young age. His mother passed away while he was in Class Three, and his father died some years later.
These losses, compounded by the death of his only sister and his brother’s subsequent mental health struggles, left him effectively alone during much of his childhood.
Today, Kasolo is a father himself and is married to Grace Mwaizaba.
Together, they have three children: Shine Kasolo, New Praise Baraka Kasolo, and King Bright Kasolo, continuing his legacy of faith, family, and gospel music.
Son’s lavish party
The development comes just weeks after the singer threw a lavish face reveal party for his son, King Bright, and dedicated an unreleased song to the toddler.
They then proceeded to sit at the dais, where Kasolo began with an emotional prayer for King Bright.
The event kicked off in style as Kasolo surprised everyone with a performance of the unreleased song, which he revealed was dedicated to his son.
Unlike most of his songs, which are in the Kamba language, the dedication was in Kiswahili and spoke of the immense gift King Bright is to him and his wife.
“Mtoto wangu King, wewe ni mfalme na katika maisha utafanikiwa. Mungu wangu, naomba umhifadhi. Baba mwanangu King, katika maisha utafanikiwa.”

Loosely translated: “My child King, you are a king, and in life you will succeed. My God, I ask that You protect him. My son King, in life, you will achieve success.”
Further into the song, Kasolo made a heartfelt prayer for his son, asking that doors of opportunity open for him and that he becomes successful and respected in life.
“Wewe ni zawadi kwa maisha yetu. Ukiwa tajiri, King, tutafurahia, utainuliwa, utafanikiwa na utakubaliwa kwa mikono miwili. Na kwa rais kama baba yako utafika.”
Loosely translated: “You are a gift in our lives. If you become wealthy, King, we will rejoice; you will rise, succeed, and be accepted with open arms. And like your father, you will reach great heights.”
