‘Spare me the noise’ – Khalif Kairo dismisses critics and says he refunded Ksh15M

Businessman Khalif Kairo has opened up about the personal and financial struggles he faced over the past two years, revealing that he paid out more than Ksh15 million in refunds while also dealing with the illness of his mother.
In a statement on X on Saturday, March 7, 2026, Kairo said the past two years have been among the most difficult periods of his life as he tried to manage business challenges and family responsibilities at the same time.
According to him, he processed millions of shillings in refunds to resolve disputes and even had several cases withdrawn as he worked to settle issues surrounding his business.
“Last year I did around 15 million in refunds and even had most cases withdrawn,” he said.
Kairo added that despite the challenges, he also travelled to Japan to sort out some of his business matters while simultaneously taking care of his terminally ill parent.
Further, the entrepreneur revealed that he and his sister spent millions of shillings seeking treatment for their mother abroad in a desperate effort to save her life.
“My sister and I burned through millions trying to salvage my mum’s health in India & the USA.”
Despite their efforts, he said the family ultimately lost the battle.
“The toughest two years of my life, and ultimately, we lost the fight. Toughest 2 years of my life, and ultimately, we lost the fight. Then unaingia TL unaona mtu amesema mmekula pesa ya insurance ju anaskia wivu unarecover. Anyway, every storm runs out of rain,” he said.
This comes a few weeks after Kairo was thrown into mourning after the death of his mother, following a long and bravely fought battle with illness.
In a heartfelt tribute on February 15, 2026, while announcing her death via his official social media pages, Kairo shared the grief and gratitude his family feels during this difficult time.
In addition, he honoured her as the woman who played a pivotal role in his life.
“We lost our mum earlier today after a long and bravely fought battle with illness. Our hearts are heavy, but we are grateful to God for the time, love, memories, and lessons she gave us,” he added.
He described his mother as a source of strength and grace, adding that as a family, they are grateful to God for every moment they shared with her.
“She fought with strength and grace, and we thank God for every moment we shared with her,” he added.
