Sammy Kioko claims receiving Ksh20K out of Ksh19M owed by Machakos county govt
Sammy Kioko has called out the Machakos County Government over its failure to pay him Ksh19 million in full for uniforms delivered to the county.
The comedian said that he has only received Ksh20,000, which is a drop in the ocean compared to what Governor Wavinya Ndeti’s administration owes him.
“Out of 19 million, the only money that we have received is 20K through M-Pesa from the Chief Finance Officer, Machakos County,” he stated.

He shared a screenshot of a message confirming that he received only Ksh20,000, adding that the money was dashed to them to get something to eat as those in charge think about whether to pay the amount or not.

“This is the highest level of manipulation and intimidation that we have ever received from Machakos County. Juu mumelia Sana, wacha tutumie kitu mkakule Kwanza tifikirie kama tututawalipa,” he added.
Sammy Kioko’s plight while pursuing payment for services rendered to the county’s administration is well-documented on social media, where he has regularly shared his experiences.
He has staged several sit-downs at the county government offices, capturing his ordeal in videos, giving the public a rare glimpse of what he goes through every other time he goes to demand his money.
Confrontation with County Official
One of the videos shared by the comedian on February 17, 2026, showed the Machakos County Minister in Charge of Finance angrily dismissing Kioko, with the comedian noting with concern that a leader who should listen to him and help in resolving the matter was the same one losing her temper and shouting and dismissing them.
“Today I want to talk to the Waziri wa Finance, Machakos County. Sijui tumekosea wapi madam? Siui kwa nini uko na hasira hivo?” Kioko said before unleashing an audio of his interaction with the minister.

“Maisha yetu imesimama, tunataka tu pesa yetu (Our lives are at a standstill),” Kioko is heard saying, with the minister interrupting him.
“Si mimi nimesimamishaa (I am not the one who has stopped your lives),” the minister says, adding that she is unwell before dismissing them and referring them to the chief officer in charge of finance.
The county government of Machakos, led by Governor Wavinya Ndeti, is yet to issue a formal response on the matter raised by Kioko, with previous efforts failing to resolve the issue.
