Rachael Otuoma shares details of tragic night doctors declared late hubby Ezekiel dead

TikToker Rachael Otuoma has spoken emotionally about the final hours of her late husband, renowned footballer Ezekiel Otuoma, revealing that doctors declared him dead just as they were wheeling him from their car into the hospital’s emergency room.
Speaking in a TikTok live hosted by BossKhan on Friday, February 27, 2026, Rachael recounted the terrifying and heartbreaking moments leading up to the tragic news.
She described how she had placed Ezekiel on the bed at home and continuously checked on him every few minutes, a routine she maintained even while going live on TikTok for her own work and earnings.
“So I remember I went and placed him on the bed, and his condition was so bad. I used to go back inside the room to check on him every few minutes. That had actually become my routine because even back then, when he was sick, I would still go live on TikTok for my own earnings. I kept checking to see if he was still okay and whether he had removed the blanket I had placed on him,” she narrated.
She explained that during one of her checks, she noticed he had shifted from the position she had placed him in.
When she tried to lift him, she realised he could no longer move, except for a slight motion in his hand.

Alarmed, she immediately went to the other room to inform her family members and suggested they take him to the hospital.
“But on my next check, I found that he had turned from the position I had placed him in. When I tried to lift him, he could not move; the only thing that was moving was his hand. I immediately went to the other room where my people were and informed them that I thought his condition had worsened. I asked that we take him to the hospital,” she added.
Rachael revealed that a neighbour, familiar with Ezekiel and his family, was contacted for help, as she could not drive herself.
Another friend, TikToker Hanna Benta, drove the car to the hospital while Rachael followed closely.
She described the journey to the hospital as chaotic and surreal, noting that despite the hospital being nearby, they repeatedly lost direction and even ended up in Kitengela before finally reaching the facility.
“There was a neighbour at that time who knew him well, and whenever his condition worsened, I would go to that neighbour’s family for help first. That day, I knocked on their door and asked them to come. I was so tense because I thought he had died, but he had not. I could not drive the car myself, so Hanna Benta drove,” she added.
Upon arrival, the doctors rushed out to assist, but tragically, they declared Ezekiel dead as they attempted to move him from the vehicle into the emergency room.
Rachael recounted how that night felt strange and disorienting, describing the mix of panic, fear, and disbelief she experienced while trying to save her husband.
“When we got to the hospital, we asked the doctor to come quickly because his condition was critical. The doctor rushed, and while trying to remove him from the vehicle, the doctor said that he had already died. That night felt very strange; despite the hospital being close to where we stayed, we kept losing direction and even ended up in Kitengela. The doctor confirmed that he died exactly when we arrived at the hospital,” she added.
