Pastor Kanyari demotes Marion Naipei, says she will no longer read Bible during services
Salvation Healing Ministry founder Pastor Victor Kanyari has announced that social media personality Marion Naipei will no longer continue with her popular role of reading the Bible in his church following recent controversies surrounding her conduct online.
Speaking before congregants during the Wednesday, May 13, 2026, midweek service, Kanyari revealed that Marion will now be sitting at the back of the church as leaders continue helping her spiritually and emotionally instead of allowing her to continue serving at the front during services.
The controversial preacher, however, maintained that despite the decision, the church would not abandon Marion, insisting that Christianity is meant for sinners and people struggling with weaknesses in life.
“In this church, Marion will no longer be reading the Bible but she will now be sitting at the back. She will stay there and we will continue helping her more,” he said.
Kanyari emotionally urged congregants not to judge or reject Marion over her mistakes, referencing biblical teachings about forgiveness and mercy. According to him, no human being is perfect and everyone deserves another chance to rebuild themselves.
He further warned members against isolating Marion from the church community, saying such rejection could push her into depression and emotional suffering.
“We are all sinners; let us look at it that way because Jesus once said that whoever has never committed sin should be the first to throw a stone,” Kanyari shared.

The preacher disclosed that the church has been supporting Marion financially, including helping her pay rent, and expressed concern that abandoning her during this difficult season could negatively affect her life.
“This lady Marion Naipei should not be shunned by the church. If you leave her alone, she may die from depression because we help her pay rent, and she may not be able to survive on her own,” Kanyari added.
Emotional forgiveness
The preacher passionately defended her before congregants, insisting that the church belongs to people struggling with sin and personal challenges. He urged followers to support her spiritual transformation instead of condemning her.
Kanyari had even promised to stand with Marion more than before, saying he intended to help rebuild her public image and connect her with major companies for influencing and brand partnership opportunities.
“Right now, I will love her even more than I loved her before. I will expose her out there and connect her with big companies that can give her gigs. I will stand with her,” Kanyari added.
At the time, he warmly welcomed her back into the church and publicly embraced her as a sign of reconciliation and renewed support.
