Pastor Kanyari cancels child’s Dubai trip, fires back at people questioning his parenting

Salvation Healing Ministry founder Pastor Victor Kanyari has revealed that he recently cancelled a planned trip to Dubai for one of his children, saying the decision was part of his efforts to instil discipline and address issues within his family.

Speaking during his Wednesday, June 24, 2026, midweek service, the pastor also clapped back at critics who have questioned the way he handles and raises his children.

He defended his parenting style and insisted that he would not allow outside opinions to influence how he disciplines his children.

According to the preacher, some people had accused him of being too strict, but he maintained that he was simply carrying out his responsibilities as a parent.

“There are some people who are saying, ‘Pastor Kanyari, do not be harsh with your kids.’ Please know that I am an African man. And those are my kids,” he said.

Kanyari went on to explain that he believes children should be corrected whenever they go against what they have been taught, arguing that being overly lenient could have negative consequences in the future.

“There is no way I can tolerate and play around with a child when they have done something wrong,” he said.

The controversial preacher further stated that children often appreciate parental guidance later in life, especially when they encounter challenges and remember the lessons they were taught while growing up.

“So when they also go astray later on, they will remember that I told them the truth,” he added.

As an example of the disciplinary measures he has recently taken, Kanyari disclosed that he cancelled a planned Dubai trip for one of his children.

While he did not specify whether he was referring to his daughter, Sky Victor, or son, Danny Victor, he said the decision was made because there were unresolved issues that needed to be addressed first.

“And that is why I cancelled a recent trip. It was for Dubai for my child, and I have cancelled it. That’s why I said let’s agree on our issues first,” he explained.

Kanyari noted that privileges and rewards would only be restored once the issues in question had been resolved.

“Once everything is okay, we will agree on where you will go,” he said.

The pastor also made it clear that if the disagreements remained unresolved, his children would continue living under his rules and guidance.

“But if we are not, you kids will have to stay with me where I live in Kayole,” he added.
