Nurse Judy has criticised some Kenyan nurses for staying angry instead of getting informed about opportunities in the United States.

She said on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, on Instagram that many nurses choose to complain rather than learn how to position themselves for success.

“Let’s talk about why some nurses stay MAD instead of getting informed. Well, it tickles me how they get mad I’d pay to watch them live in that state!!” she said.

According to Nurse Judy, a large number of nurses focus on discouraging others from coming to the US. She added that gatekeeping has become common, even on platforms like TikTok.

“Most people would rather gatekeep, discourage, and scare nurses back home from coming to the US… that’s what most have been doing, even on TikTok,” she explained.

The reality of working in America

Nurse Judy noted that many of those who complain about the US have no plans to leave the country themselves. She said the mindset that America is too difficult is flawed.

“While they themselves are not leaving America anytime soon, no one ever left to go back to Kenya, but they will tell you ‘Kai America ni ngumu, afadhali ubaki Kenya.’ Baby… everywhere is tough,” she said.

She stressed that while every country has challenges, some places offer better financial opportunities. According to Nurse Judy, positioning oneself correctly in the US can make a significant difference.

“Once you learn how to POSITION yourself in this country, there is a LOT of money to be made,” she added.

She pointed out that complaining without understanding the system does not help anyone. Her message encourages nurses to focus on gaining knowledge, skills, and proper positioning in the US rather than staying frustrated.

She believes that those who adapt and work strategically can achieve better financial and professional outcomes.

Nurse Judy hopes more nurses will take practical steps to succeed abroad. She said that a shift in mindset is crucial for those aiming to make the most of their opportunities in the United States.
