Njambi Fever recalls confronting neighbour for severely caning a child
By Paulette Mboga, January 20, 2026Njambi Fever has spoken out after witnessing a man repeatedly beating a child and the silence of those around him.
She described a tense incident that left her shocked and questioning the state of the community.
“From the kitchen balcony I said, ‘wewe mubaba unapiga mtoto uwache ujinga huwezi piga mtoto one hour na unatupigia kelele pia sisi ukiendelea nakuitia polisi,’” she wrote on Instagram on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.
The man stopped, but Njambi explained that she was shaking and unsure what got into her. She added that the incident was not the first time that had happened.

“I was so fed up! Na sio mara ya kwanza, he beats the child like every week,” she said.
Standing up while questioning the community
Njambi said she struggled with mixed feelings, wondering if the child was being difficult or if the father was frustrated.
“Then what if he’s just frustrated na anamuumiza sana? Na mbona we don’t have communities anymore?” she asked.

She said, “Hapa home we have a neighbour, hayuko kwa apartment yetu, but nyumba ziko hapa chini next to us, that man canes their child sana! The child is like 6-7 years old, but when I say he canes the baby sana ni sana!”
She explained that the child would scream and cry, but no one intervened.
She recalled a recent night when she saw the neighbour hitting the child around 8-9 pm.
“Saa anamchapa akimuuliza iko wapi pesa? I think he’s a teacher or something juu anamchapa mkono,” she said.
Njambi said she watched from her window, feeling conflicted.
Njambi Fever questioned why neighbours remain silent while children suffer abuse. She said the incidents highlight a breakdown in community responsibility.
“Unaweza piga mtoto one hour plus hadi umuue nobody will say one word. What is happening to this world?” she asked. Njambi expressed the need for people to act when they see abuse and to protect vulnerable children from harm.
