Nikita Kering unveils release date and tracklist for upcoming EP ‘The Lick Back’
Singer Nikita Kering has officially unveiled the release date and tracklist for her upcoming Extended Play (EP), The Lick Back, building anticipation among fans ahead of the project’s drop.
In a post on Instagram, the award-winning artist announced that the EP will be released on May 29, 2026, as she prepares to deliver what she describes as a deeply personal and emotionally driven project.
“I’m up. My EP drops on the 29th. It’s about revenge. For everything, and to everyone,” she said.
In her announcement, Nikita shared the full tracklist, giving fans a glimpse into the themes and direction of the EP. She revealed that the project will feature five songs: Intro, Niwade, Give Me My Money, Outside, and Sema Ukweli.

The intro track is set to feature a collaboration with “Mwaki” hitmaker Sophia Nzau, adding extra excitement around the opening sound and overall tone of the project.
Nikita explained that the EP represents a very personal chapter in her life and is meant to express emotions she has not always been able to share openly on social media.
She noted that she often struggles with vulnerability online, as she fears being misunderstood or having her words taken out of context.
She added that this challenge has, at times, affected how she connects with her audience, as she tends to withdraw and delete posts instead of fully expressing herself.
According to her, this has created a gap between her and her fans, where she sometimes feels like she is only sharing music without the story behind it.
“Every time I wanna be vulnerable on here I just delete everything cause fr this internet is waiting for a chance to misunderstand you,” she said.

The singer further expressed that The Lick Back is her way of reclaiming that connection through music rather than social media captions.
She described the project as a deeply emotional body of work built around themes of revenge, reflection, and emotional release, aimed at everything and everyone that “deserves it.”
Through the EP, she aims to channel feelings she has kept private and transform them into storytelling through sound.
Nikita also hinted that the EP carries strong emotional depth, encouraging fans not to overthink explanations but to listen closely to the music itself, where her true message is found.
She revealed that she put significant effort into writing this project, making it one of her most intentional works so far, with every track carrying a specific emotion and message.
