‘My son got stuck’ – Ninah of Wapendwa Muziki recalls traumatic delivery

Gospel singer Ninah of Wapendwa Muziki, whose real name is Peninah Wambui, has opened up about a deeply emotional and life-threatening childbirth experience, sharing the pain, fear and strength that marked the arrival of her son.

In a heartfelt post shared on her official Instagram account on Friday, April 17, 2026, while commemorating C-Section Awareness Month, Nina revealed that her journey to motherhood was far from easy.

She recounted how her son got stuck during delivery, forcing doctors to push him back in before attempting to deliver him again, a moment she describes as both terrifying and overwhelming.

“My journey was not easy. My son got stuck during delivery and had to be pushed back and delivered again,” Nina recalled.

As if that was not enough, the singer also revealed that she was dealing with a large fibroid at the same time, which was later removed.

According to her, the combination of the two medical challenges made the experience even more difficult.

“At the same time, I had a large fibroid that was later removed. It was a lot for one body to carry,” she added.

Emotional toll

Nina painted a picture of the emotional toll the ordeal took on her, recalling moments filled with fear, silence and prayers she could barely put into words. Yet, amid the uncertainty, there was a turning point she will never forget.

“I remember the fear, the silence, and the prayers I couldn’t even put into words. But I also remember the moment I heard my baby cry and everything changed,” Nina said.

Surviving the ordeal

The gospel singer added that her son’s cry marked relief, survival, and a new beginning, noting that both she and her child made it through the difficult experience.

“We made it. My son is here, and I am here too,” she added.

Using her story, Nina also took a moment to encourage other mothers who have undergone C-sections, reminding them that their journey does not make them any less.

“To every woman who has gone through a C-section: you are not less of a mother. You are strong, you are enough, and your story matters. #C-sectionAwarenessMonth”, she encouraged.

Nina and her husband publicly announced the birth of their son on January 5, 2026.
