Murugi Munyi calls out motorists who refuse to give way for ambulances

Content creator Murugi Munyi has called out motorists who refuse to clear the road for ambulances after losing her close uncle.
The content creator shared that the experience became more painful because her uncle was being rushed to the hospital during his final moments.
She explained that she has witnessed many drivers blocking ambulances in traffic because they assume there is no patient inside. According to her, some motorists think ambulance drivers only use sirens to escape traffic jams quickly.
“My close uncle recently passed away. And in his final moments, he was being rushed to the hospital in an ambulance,” Murugi Munyi said on Friday, May 8, 2026.
The influencer noted that the behaviour of some motorists on the road has continued to worry her. She explained that many people fail to understand how serious emergencies can be for families involved.
“I have been in traffic many times where I have seen motorists or vehicles refusing to give way to an ambulance,” she explained.

Murugi Munyi further stated that some drivers intentionally block ambulances because they believe the emergency vehicles are empty. She said such assumptions can be dangerous because there could be a patient fighting for life inside.
“With the reasoning that they probably don’t have anyone inside, so let us just block them,” Murugi Munyi added.
Giving ambulances priority
The content creator urged motorists to always create space whenever they hear or see an ambulance approaching. She explained that even if some ambulances may not have patients, there are many cases where someone’s loved one urgently needs medical help.

“Give ambulances way. Because yeah, maybe sometimes there isn’t anyone in there and the driver is just trying to escape traffic, but sometimes it is your loved one,” she said.
Murugi Munyi also reminded drivers that emergencies can happen to anyone at any time. She explained that people should imagine how painful it would feel if their own family member were delayed while in critical condition.
“One day it could be your child, one day it could be you,” Murugi Munyi said.
She added that road users should treat ambulances with seriousness because no one knows when they might depend on one themselves. According to her, emergencies should not be ignored because every second matters during medical situations.
