Kenyan Kelly Mouse lands feature in upcoming action thriller ‘The Mongoose’

Kenyan fashion personality Kelly Mouse is set to feature in the upcoming action thriller The Mongoose, starring Hollywood actor Liam Neeson.

Mouse announced the news on Instagram on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, expressing his excitement about being part of the production.

“Honoured to be featured in THE MONGOOSE, an upcoming action thriller starring Liam Neeson as Ryan ‘Fang’ Flanagan, a war hero falsely accused of murder who leads police on a cross-country car chase. Directed by Mark Vanselow in his feature debut,” he wrote

Mouse also shared snippets from the production showing him dressed in costume, appearing to portray a police officer. The footage gives a glimpse of his involvement in the film, although he has not disclosed further details about his character.

The Mongoose follows Ryan “Fang” Flanagan, a decorated war hero who is falsely accused of murder.

After being accused of the crime, Flanagan goes on the run, leading police on a cross-country car chase as he attempts to clear his name.

The Mongoose is scheduled for a U.S. theatrical release on October 30, 2026.

Joining other Kenyans in international productions

Mouse’s appearance in The Mongoose adds to a growing list of Kenyans who have featured in major international film productions.

Among the most prominent is Lupita Nyong’o, who has built an acclaimed international career through films such as 12 Years a Slave, for which she won an Academy Award, as well as Black Panther, Us and A Quiet Place: Day One.

Edi Gathegi, who was born in Nairobi, has also appeared in international productions including Twilight, X-Men: First Class and The Harder They Fall.

Other Kenyans and Kenyan-born talents who have featured in international films include Kiran Shah, known for appearances in The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit and Star Wars: The Force Awakens, as well as Maxwell Simba, who starred in The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind.

Benjamin Onyango has also appeared in international productions including Tears of the Sun and God’s Not Dead.
