Fans of the Avatar franchise now know when the next chapter will arrive.
Avatar: Seven Havens is set to premiere on October 9, 2026, on Paramount+, with the first trailer offering a glimpse into a world that has changed dramatically since the events of The Legend of Korra.
The new series introduces a fresh Avatar while showing the aftermath of a devastating disaster that has left the world in ruins. The trailer suggests that the Four Nations have been destroyed by an apocalyptic event, creating a dangerous and divided future.
A new Avatar rises in a broken world
The story follows Pavi, a young Earthbender who becomes the next Avatar. Unlike previous generations, Pavi enters a world where the Avatar is no longer seen as a symbol of hope.
According to the trailer, many survivors blame Avatar Korra for the catastrophe that reshaped the world. As a result, the Avatar is now viewed with fear and distrust instead of respect.
Pavi must take on the difficult task of bringing together the fractured colonies while keeping her true identity hidden. The trailer hints at a darker tone for the series, although its young lead character brings back memories of Aang’s early journey in Avatar: The Last Airbender.
Mystery surrounds Pavi’s journey
The trailer introduces Pavi but leaves several questions unanswered. It does not reveal who will join her on her journey, even though every Avatar traditionally travels with a close group of companions.
One detail that has been confirmed is that Pavi has a twin sister. That revelation could play an important role in the story and may connect to the spirit world, though the trailer does not explain how.
There has also been uncertainty about how the series will be released. Earlier reports suggested that all 26 episodes would arrive at once on Paramount+, but that now appears unlikely. Instead, the season is expected to be split into two parts of 13 episodes each, with the second batch possibly arriving about a year after the first.
The announcement comes during a major period for the Avatar franchise. The animated feature film Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender premieres on Paramount+ on July 25, 2026, following Aang and his friends as adults after the original series and before the events of The Legend of Korra.
The franchise has also continued to expand in live action, with the second season of Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender adaptation premiering last month. A third season is already on the way, making 2026 a busy year for Avatar stories across both animation and live action.
