Mosiria gives update on man he helped escape homelessness
Nairobi County Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service, Geoffrey Mosiria, has shared a heart-touching update about a man he recently helped move off the streets together with his young daughter.
In a statement posted on his X account on Saturday, March 14, 2026, Mosiria revealed that the man had earlier visited his office seeking help after life pushed him into homelessness.
According to Mosiria, the father had been abandoned by his family after his wife left him with their child, leaving the two struggling to survive on the streets after he lost his job.
“NI ICHUNGU SANA !! Early this week, a man came to my office seeking help. I’m grateful to share that he has received support and will no longer be living on the streets with his daughter,” Mosiria said.
The county official described the emotional moment when the man broke down in tears while narrating his struggles.
“The man cried, and I felt his pain seeing his daughter gently wipe away his tears,” he added.
Mosiria explained that although the man had managed to secure a roof over his head after receiving assistance, his journey back to stability is still ongoing.
“Yet, our work is not done. He still needs help to start a small business to sustain his life and pay rent,” Mosiria noted.
He used the moment to urge members of the public to show compassion to people going through difficult situations.
“This is a reminder that even the smallest acts of humanity can change lives. I know many of you may face situations even worse than this, but remember: you can always rise above and go far,” he stated.
Mosiria further encouraged Kenyans to support one another regardless of their social or financial status.
“I urge everyone to open their hearts, show compassion, and support one another regardless of circumstances, status, or background. Together, we can make a real difference.”
The county officer has, in recent years, built a reputation for stepping in to help vulnerable people in the city, often responding directly to distress calls from residents on social media. His hands-on approach has led him to personally assist homeless individuals and connect them with shelters, medical care, or job opportunities.

In one case, Mosiria helped a homeless man secure rent and promised to assist him in finding a job so he could rebuild his life. In another incident, he rescued an elderly musician who had been living on the streets of Nairobi and took him to a home for the elderly where he could receive care and shelter.
Mosiria currently heads the Citizen Engagement and Customer Service department in Nairobi County, a role that places him at the centre of addressing residents’ concerns and connecting the public with county services.
