There is a saying that states that when it is your time, even a clock will tick without batteries, and to the Tree Man, the saying is nothing but a reality.

A few months ago, Geoffrey Mosiria made news headlines after rescuing a man who was living on top of a tree along Jogoo Road.

Taking to his Facebook account on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, Mosiria said that he had finally caught up with the man to assess his progress after months of support and follow up.

Mosiria recalled that the man had been forced to live on a tree after life on the streets became unbearable.

He said sleeping in front of shops exposed him to constant harassment, with guards and passers by chasing him away at night.

“Today, I visited the gentleman I previously rescued from Jogoo Road, where he had been living on a tree after finding it extremely difficult to survive on the streets,” Mosiria said.

He explained that the man’s nights were often restless and unsafe. “Sleeping in front of shops exposed him to constant harassment and being chased away at night, often interrupting his rest, especially during the early morning hours,” he added.

Following the rescue, Mosiria said consistent support helped the man turn his life around. He revealed that the former street dweller is now living independently.

“Through support and follow up, I was able to help him secure decent housing and meaningful employment. I am pleased to report that he is now fully independent and responsibly pays his own bills,” Mosiria stated.

Beyond helping him earn a living, Mosiria noted that social healing was equally important. During the visit, he said he encouraged the man to rebuild his confidence and reconnect with people.

“During today’s visit, I also encouraged and guided him in building confidence to interact socially, including initiating a conversation with someone he had previously been hesitant to approach,” he said.

Mosiria described the moment as a major personal step forward. “This small but important step marked personal growth and renewed self confidence,” he noted.

He concluded by saying the journey reaffirmed the importance of long term support.

“This progress reaffirms the importance of not only rescuing individuals from hardship, but also walking with them until they regain dignity, stability, and hope for the future,” Mosiria said.
