Mbavu Destroyer makes his first TV debut after viral Vurugu match
Fast-rising boxer Ferdinand Omondi, widely known as Mbavu Destroyer, has officially made his first television debut following the popularity he gained from the widely talked about Vurugu boxing match that dominated social media.
Mbavu, taking to his Instagram account on Monday, May 11, 2026, shared a short clip of himself during the shoot and announced that he will be appearing on the long-running Kenyan comedy show Vitimbi, a veteran TV series that has entertained audiences for years with its humorous skits and iconic characters.
Excited about the new milestone, the amateur boxer, alongside the clip, also shared a playful message online teasing fans about his appearance on the show.
“Nilisema itakua mbayaaaaa mkadhani nabororonja….tupatane @vitimbi leo na apa lazima nipasue mtu mayai….. @kbcchannel1 itakua mbayaaaaa na Nimejaa ngori…. @joseh_bonnie mayai yako moja napasua leo,” Mbavu wrote.
