Weka Mawe! Mbavu Destroyer credited for hyping clash with Majembe
Fast-rising boxer Mbavu Destroyer, widely known as Ferdinand Omondi, is now being frequently credited for playing a key role in building the hype around his much-talked-about clash with Portifas Odipo, alias Majembe, at the viral Vurugu Fight Night.
The bout was held at Kasarani Indoor Arena, Nairobi, on Saturday night, April 4, 2026.
Long before the two stepped into the ring, Mbavu had already captured the attention of fans through relentless online banter, bold predictions, and high-energy content that quickly spread across social media.

Many now agree that his promotional efforts significantly contributed to the event’s massive turnout and online viewership.

They argue that beyond the result in the ring, he helped elevate the fight into a cultural moment, drawing attention to the growing influencer boxing scene.
For Mbavu Destroyer, while the result may not have gone his way, his role in making the fight a viral sensation is now firmly part of the story.
