Mama Gift issues update after rushing baby for emergency treatment to Kijabe
By Steve Ireri, December 5, 2025Embu-based TikToker Mama Gift Gathoge has provided an update after rushing her son, Baby Gift, to AIC Kijabe Hospital for emergency treatment.
In a message shared on TikTok on Thursday, December 4, 2025, Mama Gift, who captured the attention of thousands online for documenting the struggles of caring for her son, explained that her child had fallen ill all unexpectedly.
She conveyed that she was praying earnestly as they travelled and placing all her hope in divine intervention.
“Good morning, everyone. We are currently on our way to AIC Kijabe Hospital because Baby Gift is not feeling well. I know that God will stretch His mighty hand of healing upon him. I am praying as we go,” Mama Gift wrote.

Mama Gift also shared a video of herself humming along to Kikuyu gospel singer Loise Kim’s hit song ‘Ngai Ndagituruta,’ raising her hands in a gesture of faith and prayer as she sought strength during this difficult time.
Gift’s story
Baby Gift suffers from severe cerebral palsy and requires feeding through tubes. In addition to his neurological condition, he contends with asthma, cardiovascular complications, gastrointestinal issues, and frequent convulsions, placing an immense emotional and financial burden on his mother.
Mama Gift gained national recognition after TikTokers rallied to support her through a highly publicised fundraiser held at Njukiiri Showground in Embu on Sunday, October 26, 2025.

The event drew hundreds of TikTokers from across the country, many of whom travelled long distances, filling roads and the showground football pitch. The turnout exceeded expectations and even doubled the crowd that had attended Kaluma Boy’s father’s fundraiser the previous month.
The fundraiser, which was organised entirely via TikTok, featured a grand display of Nduthi culture, a convoy of more than 200 boda bodas, private cars, and hired matatus arriving in procession.
The day’s proceedings included speeches from prominent TikTokers and local celebrities, who praised the generosity of online communities and encouraged sustained social media philanthropy.
Donations were made through mobile paybill numbers as well as cash, with public figures invited to address the crowd from a lorry acting as a podium.
Mama Gift’s son had previously been scheduled for specialised treatment in India, and the fundraiser helped cover these medical expenses.
