Vurugu Boxing champion Protifas Odipo, popularly known as Majembe, has opened up about his unique daily routine and diet plan, revealing that boiled eggs form the core of his fitness and training preparation.

Speaking about his lifestyle during an interview with a local radio station on Friday, April 10, 2026, Majembe explained that his mornings begin with a disciplined routine aimed at maintaining physical fitness and preparing for intense training sessions.

He noted that the first thing he does after waking up is boil eggs, usually preparing around four eggs before starting his day.

After completing his breakfast routine, he proceeds to do a short set of push-ups before taking a shower.

“In the morning when I wake up, the very first thing I do is boil eggs. I boil around four eggs, then I do a few push-ups and after that I take a shower,” he said.

He then heads out for training or roadwork, depending on his schedule for the day. According to him, consistency in this routine has played a key role in keeping him fit and ready for competition.

“After that I go for training or roadwork. But mostly the key thing is boiling eggs,” he said.

Majembe further revealed that his diet remains simple and controlled, with eggs being his main source of protein. He disclosed that he consumes about six eggs per day, explaining that he does not eat heavily.

He detailed that his intake is usually split across the day, with either three eggs in the morning and three in the evening, or sometimes four in the morning and two later in the day.

The boxer noted that this structured eating habit, combined with his physical training, has helped him maintain stamina and discipline in the ring.

“In a day I eat around six eggs because I do not eat a lot. I eat three in the morning and three in the evening, or sometimes four in the morning and two in the evening,” Majembe added.

Car gift

On the same day, Majembe was finally handed the promised Toyota Noah after his dominating victory at the highly publicised Vurugu boxing match held at the Kasarani Indoor Arena in Nairobi on April 4, 2026.

The colourful handover ceremony took place in Nairobi and was officiated by officials from a betting company that had pledged the vehicle to the winner of the bout, fulfilling one of the major prizes attached to the fight.

The event attracted a host of public figures and celebrities who were closely associated with the boxing spectacle, including media personality and organiser Oga Obinna, Kameme FM presenter Muthoni wa Kirumba, popularly known as Baby Top, Kikuyu content creator Mbote Njogu, and SPM Buzz’s Silva Kiddo, among others.

The atmosphere during the handover was filled with excitement as Majembe arrived to a warm reception, posing for photos with officials and guests who had followed his journey from the boxing ring to the reward stage. He appeared visibly delighted as he interacted with supporters and event organisers.

A symbolic moment of the ceremony came when Majembe was first presented with a dummy key before the official car keys were handed over by the betting company representatives, formally confirming him as the owner of the vehicle. The gesture drew cheers and applause from those in attendance, marking the climax of the celebration.

Shortly after, Majembe was ushered into the driver’s seat and encouraged to take the vehicle for a short spin within the venue area, an act that sparked further jubilation from fans and guests who had gathered to witness the milestone.

Speaking during the event, Majembe expressed gratitude for how far he has come since the fight, acknowledging the transformation in his life following the victory.

He revealed that his mother is the first person he intends to share the experience with, stating that driving her in the new car would be a deeply personal and emotional moment.

“Now I will not walk anymore. The first person I want to drive with this car is my mother. I also want to carry my whole family in it so that they can feel and experience it. It will be very special for me,” he said.

He further noted that the achievement holds significant meaning for him because no one in his family has ever owned a car before. According to him, this milestone represents a historic breakthrough not only for him personally but also for his entire family background.

Majembe also expressed appreciation to the betting company that honoured its promise, saying the reward motivates him to continue pursuing boxing and improving his life through discipline and hard work.

“It is a big achievement for me because in my family no one has ever owned a car, even where I come from. That means I will be the very first,” he added.
