Kenyan Prince recounts childhood struggles and why he flaunts his lavish lifestyle

Raymond Omosa, commonly known as the Kenyan Prince, has opened up on his challenging past and why he flaunts his lavish lifestyle and wealth on social media.
Kenyan Prince opened up in an interview with Mwafreeka on the Iko Nini podcast on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, detailing that the current lavish lifestyle is a stark contrast to the life he lived not long ago.
The controversial forex trader explained that he grew up in a humble family under the care of his maternal grandmother.
“My mother gave birth to us tukiwa wawili (two of us), and she was in high school then,” Prince stated.

According to Prince, his mother got pregnant while in form two and gave birth before leaving them in the care of his grandmother.
Losing mum at an early age
He revealed that he lost his mother in his childhood years when he was around four years old, and has never met his father.
The forex trader explained that he was sent home for school fees and stayed home for a whole academic term, but was allowed to continue with his education for free by the owner of the school since he was a bright student.
Later on in life, he secured a scholarship that saw him through high school, passing with an A plain of 83 points.
On flaunting his lavish lifestyle online, the content creator said that he does so to motivate other people in challenging financial situations, similar to when he went through earlier in life.
“I expose my life because I want to be a motivation to someone out there, mwenye anataka kuona journey ya kijana mdogo mwenye amejituma, and is heading somewhere in life.
This loosely translates to “I post a lot about my life because I want to motivate someone out there who may want to see my journey as a young man who defied the odds and is heading somewhere.”
Living in a mabati house
He recounted living in a mabati house paying Ksh1500 a month and noted that posting his mansion and lavish lifestyle should not be a concern.
“I have posted myself nikiwa nimewekwa na dame yangu then kwa bedsitter. Nilikuwa napost myself nikiwa kwa hiyo bedsitter (I have posted myself in the past while depending on my girlfriend and living in a bedsitter),” Prince said.

“Nikapost myself nikilala njaaa, nikaenda online nikabeg for food, nikapost myself nikisaidiwa, nikaomba mchango before these people. (I posted myself while sleeping hungry, begging for food online, and when being helped). Why do you feel bad when I post myself driving a Mercedes?” Prince stated
