Karangu Muraya thanks Kenyans for support following brother’s burial
By Steve Ireri, April 23, 2026Kikuyu gospel singer and philanthropist Karangu Muraya has expressed heartfelt gratitude to Kenyans for the overwhelming support his family received following the burial of his brother, Paul Kareithi Muraya.
In a message shared on behalf of the Muraya family on Facebook on Thursday, April 23, 2026, Karangu acknowledged the outpouring of love, kindness, and compassion shown during their time of grief, noting that the support went beyond what words can fully describe.
“On behalf of the Muraya family, we would like to extend our deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for the overwhelming support, kindness, and compassion you have shown us,” he wrote.
He highlighted the different ways in which people stood with the family, including prayers, comforting messages, financial contributions, and physical presence during the mourning period. According to him, each gesture played a significant role in helping the family navigate the difficult moment.
“During this time, your generosity, whether through your prayers, comforting messages, presence, or contributions, has meant more to us than words can ever fully express,” he added.
Karangu said the family was deeply humbled by the solidarity shown, adding that the encouragement and goodwill from friends, fans, and well-wishers brought them strength and comfort as they laid their loved one to rest.
“We have been truly humbled by the outpouring of love and solidarity, and it has brought us great comfort and strength. Knowing that we are surrounded by such caring and thoughtful people has made a difficult time more bearable, and for that, we are sincerely thankful,” he wrote.
He further noted that knowing they were surrounded by caring individuals made the grieving process more bearable, emphasising that the collective support eased the emotional burden they were facing.
On behalf of the family, he extended sincere appreciation to everyone who stood with them, stating that the kindness shown will remain in their hearts.
He also offered prayers for blessings upon those who supported them, describing their generosity as selfless and deeply impactful.
“Please accept our heartfelt appreciation for standing with us. Your kindness will forever remain in our hearts, and we pray that you are abundantly blessed for the support you have so selflessly given. With deepest thanks, The Muraya Family,” he wrote.
Untimely passing
Karangu Muraya’s brother passed away on April 14, 2026, after a prolonged struggle with injuries sustained in a road accident.
Paul’s death was the result of severe health complications following a road accident that occurred over a year earlier, on February 17, 2025.
The accident left him bedridden and required intensive medical care, with Karangu often updating his followers on the mounting hospital bills and the support received from available health insurances.
Despite numerous medical interventions and a resilient fourteen-month battle for recovery, Paul’s condition eventually deteriorated.
He passed away while undergoing treatment at Mathari Hospital in Nyeri.
