Kamene Goro challenges society on pressure to have kids
Radio host Kamene Goro has challenged society over the pressure placed on individuals to have children.
She spoke on the issue while responding to a question about choosing to remain child-free. Kamene explained that such a decision should remain personal and not be influenced by outside expectations.
“A society cannot determine such a decision, don’t let them,” Kamene Goro wrote on Monday, May 4, 2026.
She explained that becoming a parent is a serious responsibility that should not be taken lightly. Kamene said people should not feel forced to have children because of societal expectations. She added that the decision should be made with clear intention.

“I believe being a parent should be very intentional,” she said.
Kamene went on to warn against having children without proper planning or readiness. She explained that bringing a child into the world without preparation can lead to challenges for the child. According to her, the focus should be on the child’s well-being.
“The notion that you should have kids or must have kids or haphazardly have kids is very unfair to the children,” Kamene Goro said.
Pressure versus personal choice
She stressed that raising a child requires commitment and the ability to provide a good life. Kamene explained that people should only take that step when they are fully ready. She said it is unfair to bring a child into difficult conditions.

“Don’t bring another human into this world if you are not ready to give them a life that they deserve,” she said.
Kamene also spoke about the consequences of making such decisions without thinking. She explained that many children suffer because of poor choices made by adults. Her message focused on responsibility and careful planning.
“A lot of children suffer out here because people played around with how serious reproduction is,” Kamene Goro said.
Kamene said that choosing not to have children is a valid decision, and that it is better to wait than to act without preparation.
“So if you don’t want it, don’t do it because a whole other very innocent human being will have to pay the price, and they don’t deserve it,” she said.
Kamene maintained that society should not control personal decisions about having children. She said such choices belong to the individual.
